How to use Higher-Level Thinking for Pranic Self Healing
Our bodies, minds, and souls operate at an optimal level when balance is initiated through healing. Are you taking the necessary time to be present with yourself to build this nurturing foundation? One crucial tool in our self care toolbox is implementing higher-level thinking to address our issues. My time with Pranic Healing has helped me access this practice and I'd love to share it with you.
Higher-level thinking is essentially addressing a problem from "farther upstream" in your stream of consciousness to help you move beyond just self awareness and actually talk to your unconscious mind to help clear negative emotions, traumas, and limiting beliefs that may likely be at the root of a physical health issue and its symptoms.
There are seven steps in higher-level thinking as you engage your unconscious mind in a dialogue and then use non-judgemental awareness to bring in more clarity and balance.
First relax yourself physically and mentally and closing your eyes. I like to do a couple sets of "box breathing". Breathe in for 4 counts. Hold for 4 counts. Breathe out 4. Then hold for 4 on the out breath. You can visualize a box with the 4 sides being drawn in your mind's eye while you do each count.
Secondly, place non-judgemental awareness on the health problem, symptoms or situation you are looking to move through, while not blaming yourself or feeling angry. Simply become aware of the area of your body. Keep breathing slowly and deeply.
Third step is to ask yourself some questions to conduct a self-dialogue.
"I wonder why (this problem) is occurring?"
"What is (this problem) I'm having a example of?"
"What is the higher purpose in my having (this problem)?
"What belief would I have to have in order to create (this problem)?
You can use these questions specifically or intuitively ask something similar.
The 4th step as one question leads to another and the answers come in is to hold non-judgemental attention on the affected area and gently go deeper to see what negative emotions, traumatic memories, or limiting beliefs might be buried that you've been trying not to feel.
Step 5- As you stay attentive and aware, your answers will move closer to the root cause. You may have a pause in the answers or you may even experience your symptoms slightly stronger as you peel away a "protective layer" that your subconscious mind has built up.
Sixth Step. Be still and place awareness there and feel for the uncovered emotion or trauma.
The seventh step is letting go and thanking your unconscious mind for its help. If you feel you need to probe further with more questions, feel free to do so, but the whole process should last 15 to 20 minutes.
Open your eyes and stretch slightly to bring yourself back.
This process is just one of the many options to explore within Pranic Healing to alleviate imbalances and assist in your wellbeing for body, mind, and spirit.
