Did you know that most Citrine points you buy are actually not real ??Real Citrine is rare and expensive, which is why heat-treated Citrine is so abundant. This is real Citrine from Namibia and that;s why it cost more if you did;nt pay much you probably got a fake. I hand picked these gorgeous pieces myself.
How can you tell good quality citrine from the fake ?? Well have a close look at the pictures as this is REAL .Usually fake Citrine is made of glass, resin or amethyst ( a much cheaper crystal) that has been heat treated .Unless someone has a good sense for crystals ,most can be fooled ,especially if you are just learning about them.
Real Citrine will -
- have lots of clarity
- the color is uniform throughout the crystal
- they have a relatively straight quartz crystal formation and no white base
- with some red hematite tucked in where they were plucked out of the rock matrix ( if you look at these pieces you can see the red hematite on the bottom of them ).
Fake Citrine will -
Glass will show bubbles, whereas real Citrine will not
Glass will not show color banding where real gemstones will
Glass will feel cooler than real gemstones
When faceted, glass may show more rounded edges while real Citrine will have sharp edges
Another form of fake Citrine may be a dyed clear stone. While it is a real stone, it may be dyed to look yellow.
Don't feel bad if you have bought fake Citrine before ... I have even done it...but now you know what the real deal is and can get a piece for yourself. 😁
These pieces weigh approximately 60-70 grams each and will come in a gift bag charged with healing Reiki from the universe. ✨✨
The metaphysical properties of Citrine are that it inspires confidence, clear-mindedness, and lots of energy to pursue your goals.
